AirTag Case

An Australian carry goods company, Bellroy is built on finding better ways to store, protect and carry your items. Based in Bells Beach, Victoria, the Bellroy design team carries an intense focus on user centeredness and sustainable design.

My work here was focused heavily on hard-goods and tech accessories, with an emphasis on the creation and refinement design language in new product areas. 

Background

Spurred by the, at the time, upcoming release of the Apple AirTag, the Bellroy AirTag Case and AirTag Sleeve we're fast paced design projects aimed to hit the market as soon as possible.

The initial brief of this project was to develop a hard, protective case for the AirTag that leant on the cues of the existing leather-laminated hard goods products in Bellroy's range (Flip Case, Watch Strap, AirPods case).

Overview

This project was one of the most fast paced undertaken during my time at Bellroy, with an aim to launch as soon as possible after the release of the Apple AirTag. 

Beginning with rough hand sketching, the process evolved quickly into 3D model form studies, wooden carvings, 3D printed prototypes, and early renders for rough scale and CMF testing.
